Canon announces new cheque scanners
To
cater to the incessant needs of organisations to manage their workflow, Canon
is now launching a new series of document and cheque scanners that maximize
desk-spaces for a smarter workflow with a 55% reduction in footprint size. K.
Bhaskhar, Director- OIS, Canon India, said, Financial services & healthcare
organisations with paper-intensive processes, are looking for digitization of
documents through image capture or electronic form technologies to manage their
workflow and improvise the efficiency of their core business processes.
He added, For businesses that scan cheques frequently, accuracy and reliability
are crucial. Canons cheque scanners are designed with smart features,
and are easy to use from front-desk counter to back-end desk.
The CR25 scanner is big on advanced front-office functionality while its ultra-compact
size means it easily fits into most spaces. A fast and efficient front-counter
cheque reader ensures a smooth workflow.
Tipping the scales at 2 kg, the CR-25 is very light and has small stature. With
the CR-25 one can scan up to 25 or 55 cheques per minute respectively, using
black & white and greyscale image reading. It is equipped with a magnetic
head to read MICR codeline data on cheques at a rated accuracy of over 99.9%.
Supporting international E13B and CMC7 standards for MICR recognition, the scanner
can handle multiple cheque types and sizes and simultaneously read MICR codeline
data with OCR software.
Bhaskar added, Canon's cheque scanners come with software drivers to boost
scanning power. It is customised to a wide range of leading cheque processing
software and easily integrates into existing systems for the widest cheque scanning
options available.
Canons scanning software allows scanning, file saving, viewing and other
functions to make operation effortless. The device also features a cover that
opens to the side, making it easier to clear a misfed or perform maintenance
tasks such as cleaning the scanning glass and feed rollers.
