HP announced a slew of new products, solutions and services at an event held in Beijing, China. With these initiatives, the company promises to deliver innovation, environmental benefits and choice in the Asia-Pacific region.

The offerings include MPS Smart Decision Suite, a next-generation technology platform that integrates front-end capabilities with back-end services infrastructure; Printing Payback Guarantee; Eco Solutions Printing Program; integration of HP document management scanners in MPS; ePrint Enterprise Mobile Printing; Extreme Command Center; Exstream Application Manager; and Solutions Experience Center.

Pierre Mirlesse, VP - Managed Enterprise Solutions, Imaging and Printing Group, HP APJ, said, “With HP MPS, enterprise customers in the Asia-Pacific have access to the industry's broadest portfolio of intelligent devices, software and workflow solutions to accelerate enterprise customers’ return to growth. Today’s CIOs are tasked with bringing order to the chaos of their imaging and printing environment. Through a scalable MPS engagement with HP, we are helping them gain visibility of their printing infrastructure and better manage their environment.”

As part of its channel-led MPS offering for the SMB segment, the company has announced QuickPage, a new service designed to help SMBs better optimize their imaging and printing environment and control costs. This service provides SMBs with a simple contract to gain control over costs and more choice to manage their printing environment.

This service is powered by the InCommand portal, a cloud-based printing platform that enables channel partners to more easily and cost-effectively quote, construct, manage and deliver simple contractual print services for SMBs.

The vendor has also extended its portfolio of imaging and printing solutions to help SMBs reduce environmental impact, improve efficiency and accelerate growth. In this endeavor, the company has introduced one of the most energy-efficient laser printers along with a wireless laser printer, the LaserJet Pro P1100 series; a new line of printers featuring Auto-On/Auto-Off technology that reduces energy use by up to three times compared to sleep mode—LaserJet Pro 1606dn, 1566, 1102, 1102w, LaserJet 1212nf, M1213nf, M1132 and M1136 multifunction printers; and its smallest auto-duplex printer that helps reduce paper usage by about 25%, the LaserJet Pro 1606dn and Color LaserJet Pro CP5225dn.

With the EzPrintSaver cost management solution that is based on printer and user-based rules such as forced duplex printing, SMBs can manage waste, reduce paper consumption and decrease toner usage by up to 25%. The company has also announced the launch of the Carbon Footprint Calculator, a tool that gives SMBs the ability to measure and evaluate the existing carbon footprint of their current printer or printer fleet to understand how they can reduce their impact and save money through responsible printing.

John Solomon, Senior VP - Imaging and Printing Group, HP APJ, said, “Only HP can combine a new portfolio of industry-first products that offer a reduction in environment impact. This aligns with our goal to remain the partner of choice for SMBs in the Asia-Pacific by providing a value equation that encompasses how we can help SMBs go green for their bottomline and accelerate their business growth.”

Additionally, the company has also launched the ultra-compact, portable Scanjet Professional 1000 Mobile Scanner. Weighing 0.64 kg, the scanner enables business customers to scan documents in the office or on-the-go at client locations or in the field. Featuring Instant-on scanning technology to save energy, the scanner can quickly scan two-sided documents in a variety of sizes and thickness and save them in different file formats.

Meanwhile, the vendor has unveiled a printing technology, called Smart Install that allows customers to begin printing in as little as two minutes by simply connecting a netbook, notebook, or desktop PC to the printer with a USB cable—no CD is required. It eliminates the need for CD drivers and also provides an intuitive interface for users to connect printers to PCs via a USB cable.

“Today’s SMBs need to use their resources wisely, working smarter and faster to maintain their competitive edge as the economy recovers. We offer SMBs an opportunity to accelerate growth through printing technologies and products that pay you back,” concluded Solomon.
