HPs initiatives in printing and imaging
The vendor announced several new products at a recent event

HP announced a slew of new products, solutions and services
at an event held in Beijing, China. With these initiatives, the company promises
to deliver innovation, environmental benefits and choice in the Asia-Pacific
region.
The offerings include MPS Smart Decision Suite, a next-generation technology
platform that integrates front-end capabilities with back-end services infrastructure;
Printing Payback Guarantee; Eco Solutions Printing Program; integration of HP
document management scanners in MPS; ePrint Enterprise Mobile Printing; Extreme
Command Center; Exstream Application Manager; and Solutions Experience Center.

HP APJ, said, With HP MPS, enterprise customers in the Asia-Pacific have
access to the industry's broadest portfolio of intelligent devices, software
and workflow solutions to accelerate enterprise customers return to growth.
Todays CIOs are tasked with bringing order to the chaos of their imaging
and printing environment. Through a scalable MPS engagement with HP, we are
helping them gain visibility of their printing infrastructure and better manage
their environment.
As part of its channel-led MPS offering for the SMB segment,
the company has announced QuickPage, a new service designed to help SMBs better
optimize their imaging and printing environment and control costs. This service
provides SMBs with a simple contract to gain control over costs and more choice
to manage their printing environment.
This service is powered by the InCommand portal, a cloud-based printing platform
that enables channel partners to more easily and cost-effectively quote, construct,
manage and deliver simple contractual print services for SMBs.
The vendor has also extended its portfolio of imaging and printing solutions
to help SMBs reduce environmental impact, improve efficiency and accelerate
growth. In this endeavor, the company has introduced one of the most energy-efficient
laser printers along with a wireless laser printer, the LaserJet Pro P1100 series;
a new line of printers featuring Auto-On/Auto-Off technology that reduces energy
use by up to three times compared to sleep modeLaserJet Pro 1606dn, 1566,
1102, 1102w, LaserJet 1212nf, M1213nf, M1132 and M1136 multifunction printers;
and its smallest auto-duplex printer that helps reduce paper usage by about
25%, the LaserJet Pro 1606dn and Color LaserJet Pro CP5225dn.
With the EzPrintSaver cost management solution that is based on printer and
user-based rules such as forced duplex printing, SMBs can manage waste, reduce
paper consumption and decrease toner usage by up to 25%. The company has also
announced the launch of the Carbon Footprint Calculator, a tool that gives SMBs
the ability to measure and evaluate the existing carbon footprint of their current
printer or printer fleet to understand how they can reduce their impact and
save money through responsible printing.

Additionally, the company has also launched the ultra-compact, portable Scanjet
Professional 1000 Mobile Scanner. Weighing 0.64 kg, the scanner enables business
customers to scan documents in the office or on-the-go at client locations or
in the field. Featuring Instant-on scanning technology to save energy, the scanner
can quickly scan two-sided documents in a variety of sizes and thickness and
save them in different file formats.
Meanwhile, the vendor has unveiled a printing technology, called Smart Install
that allows customers to begin printing in as little as two minutes by simply
connecting a netbook, notebook, or desktop PC to the printer with a USB cableno
CD is required. It eliminates the need for CD drivers and also provides an intuitive
interface for users to connect printers to PCs via a USB cable.
