HP showcases workstations solutions

HP recently held HP Workstations Solutions World in Mumbai to highlight the critical role that innovative workstation solutions can play in achieving new levels of efficiencies in the coming year.

Through its Workstation ecosystem, HP showcased virtualization, a disruptive collaboration technology, and color management innovations that will bring businesses to the forefront of cost-savings, productivity and decrease their carbon foot-print.

Speaking on the occasion, S K Sim, Director and Business Unit Manager-Workstation Business Unit, Personal Systems Group, HP APAC and Japan, said, “Only HP offers businesses a complete Workstations ecosystem, which offers the industry’s broadest and deepest array of partner certified solutions optimized for HP’s Z series Workstations, HP Designjet T series and Mobile Workstation platforms to drive specific businesses outcomes for businesses in different industries.”

Here, HP highlighted the key innovative solutions that will make a difference to businesses outcomes:

  • Virtualization – A unique 3D graphics virtualization approach allows a single HP Z800 Workstation to effectively do the work of several workstations at once, improving the productivity and cost-efficiency for some of the world’s most power critical industries. Parallels Workstation 4.0 Extreme 3D graphics virtualization solution is exclusively available on the HP Z800 Workstation.
  • Disruptive collaboration technologies – HP SkyRoom is the only affordable HD-quality solution to offer live collaboration for up to four people, right from their desktop using a standard business network with no subscription fees. It can help reduce travel costs and increase productivity.
  • Color management innovations – With HP DreamColor displays, businesses can benefit from design process improvement by accelerating the speed of design and eliminating wasted prototypes, design cycles and costs. DreamColor incorporate a true 30-bit, LED backlit LCD display that provides a range of over 1 billion colors. From design to print, ColorPRO technology media which include HP Universal Bond Paper and HP Bright White Inkjet Paper are designed for use with HP Designjet large-format printers.

Meanwhile, one key innovation that sets HP Workstations apart is HP’s special Performance Tuning Framework software automatically tunes the workstation, finding and installing the proper drivers, resulting in significantly improved performance and system and software stability. Besides, HP’s Mobile Workstations delivers professional graphics capabilities in a convenient mobile format.

“The key competitive differentiator for workstation vendors over the past decade has shifted from delivering perennial increases in computing and graphics performance to providing a highly optimized workstation environment that offers greater creative flexibility, a much broader selection of applications, better ease of use and shorter deployment times. The emergence of new form- factors such as mobile and blade workstations coupled with virtualization technologies will help propel the deployment of workstations into new market segments and customer applications,” stated Rajnish Arora, Director–Enterprise Computing, Domain Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
