Day 3/ Session

Opportunities through Enterprise Systems Management

Krishnan Thyagarajan, Managing Director of Quest Software-South Asia talked about a situation when the CEO's mailbox leaked and his e-mail was read by all while there was no way to diagnose the problem

While Thyagarajan finds active roles server automating every active directory administration, InTrust smart log monitoring with alerts and curbs are some solutions, but it is beyond this.

Finding a way out, Thyagarajan maintained that a possible way to counter such criticalities of mail box leakages and prevent information hacking can be through a set of solutions around windows infrastructure management which amplifies any environment with products that simplify, automate, secure and extend the windows infrastructure. Another way the managing director suggested was to deploy application management tools which help in delivering, managing and controlling complex environment, besides deploying database management solutions for improving DBA and developer productivity and increase database performance.

“Virtualization Management is another way of curtailing such exigencies which simplifies ongoing management and reduce IT costs for the entire virtual environment from desktop to server to storage,” said Thyagarajan.

Thyagarajan suggested that CIOs deploy enterprise systems management solutions which would help them drive capabilities around discovery, compliance, recovery, and reporting, monitoring, provisioning, migration and performance management for both end user and e-commerce user.

The enterprise systems management solutions from Quest would manage the entire applications related to core Microsoft applications like Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, packaged applications like Oracle and SAP and customized applications. “These solutions would help in managing entire infrastructure layers such as app servers, databases, operating systems in a virtual environment,” maintained Thyagarajan.
