BIA uses RADs pseudowire access gateways to strengthen network infrastructure
In its bid to strengthen its network infrastructure, the Bengaluru
International Airport (BIA) has chosen to deploy IPmux TDMoIP® pseudowire
access gateways from global access technology leader, RAD Data Communications,
to integrate its internal network infrastructure with that of its service provider.
The standards-compliant IPmux ensures low end-to-end processing delay, configurable
packet size to achieve proper balance between PSN throughput and delay, and
enhanced buffering mechanism for network packet delay variation.
Pseudowire service emulation technology, which RAD pioneered and first introduced
to the market a decade ago, extends legacy voice or data circuits, as well as
signaling, across packet networks simply, transparently and economically. By
implementing pseudowire solutions, carriers and enterprises can reduce network
expenses without compromising functionality or services.
The compact IPmux-1E and the larger capacity IPmux-14 that have been incorporated
into BIAs network provide different port capacities. In addition, RADs powerful
RADview-SC/TDMoIP® network management system is being used to perform end-to-end
provisioning and monitoring of networks.
Expressing his confidence in RAD products, Francis Rajan, Head IT at BIA, said,
RAD products and solutions bring a lot of cost saving for us as we do
not have to build and maintain a parallel copper wire infrastructure in the
campus now. More importantly, our association with RAD has helped us to offer
a level playing field for all service providers so that BIA and its customers
can take advantage of multiple service provider presence in the campus.
In this project, apart from meeting the existing networks technical
requirements, our biggest challenge was in delivering and implementing the project
within BIAs limited time frame. I am happy to report that, together with
our local partner, MRO-TEK, we successfully met BIAs expectations,
said Tuhin Dutta, AGM-Business Development, RAD India.
