Canon rolls out 85 products for Diwali

Canon India Pvt. Ltd. recently announced the pre-Diwali launch of 85 new digital imaging products. This was Canon’s biggest product launch ever in the country. The product line includes digital cameras, digital video camcorder, printers, digital copiers, software applications, cable id printers and card printers etc.

The products launched are across its three divisions Imaging Communication Products (ICP), Consumer Systems Products (CSP) and Business Imaging Solutions (BIS).

Kensaku Konishi, President & CEO, Canon India, said, “With this launch, we continue the momentum with the widest range of products across cutting-edge technologies and solutions to our customers in India.”

Last year the company grew by 38% and this year it has grown by 35%. Overall, Canon India expects to have revenues of Rs. 700 Crores in 2008. With the launch of these products, Canon aims at gaining market share in India.

The product launches included Canon’s entry into two new categories of Cable ID printer and Card Printer. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India, said, “We are focusing on increasing our market share across all products categories. In 2009 we will target tier 2 and 3 cities.”
