Earn while you learn

Tally Solutions has 1,800 training points; it successfully trains two lakh students per year. This year, Tally India is bringing its ‘Pragati—Earn While you Learn’ initiative to colleges; Pragati in Sanskrit means ‘to progress.’ The program’s aim is to train wannabe accountants. The basic requirement for enrolling in this course is 10+2. From home-makers to college students to aspiring entrepreneurs, any qualified individual wanting to learn about accounting can enrol by paying Rs. 5,400.

India has 600 million people below the age of 25 years out of whom 300 million are in the employable age category, but remain unemployed. According to a Deloitte survey, by 2009, there is an expected need for two million financial services professionals. This initiative will bridge the demand-supply gap by capturing 250,000 individuals. Tally has a 5,500 field force that will reach out to colleges and students en masse.

Pragati will integrate vocational education and academic qualifications and provide practical knowledge into a 90 hour course. The curriculum will address areas like payroll, statistics, reporting and MIS.
