    CHANNEL LEADERSHIP AWARDS 2006

Best of IT Channels`
Presenting India's finest IT solution and service providers

India’s best System Integrators
The System Integrator community is at a tipping point. With enterprise IT witnessing robust demand, SIs are presently at the same stage where Indian software export companies were in the mid-1990s.

India's best Solution Providers
Specialisation is the key in today’s business. When we set out with our awards process, we had decided to have only one common category, that of Solution Provider.

India's best Enterprise Var
This category witnessed an average growth of 25 percent, keeping pace with its peers in the Advance Market, a sign that economic growth is secular and is percolating down to the emerging markets.

India's best Sub-Distributors
Last year was marked by several major shifts in the sub-distribution segment. An important shift identified by most of the nominees was the fact that sub-distribution as a pure-play business model is increasingly becoming unviable due to plunging margins and the introduction of Value Added Tax (VAT).

India's best Retailers
It isn’t difficult to understand why most IT vendors are bullish about retail. A quick look at the growth performance of the nominees suggests that IT retailing has finally come of age. Take the example of Online PC Systems, which doubled its revenues from Rs 9 crore in 2004-05 to Rs 18 crore last fiscal. Pune-based Cybernet IT, winner in the emerging category, recorded an 80 percent jump.

India's best System Builders
While analysts predict that assembled systems are losing out to branded PCs due to falling prices and changing customer preferences, the growth performance of nominees suggests otherwise.
