Acer’s TravelMate 8200 notebook PC

Features: This notebook PC from Acer comes with Intel’s Core Duo 2.0 GHz processor (Yonah), a 2 X 512 MB RAM, and a 15.4-inch WXGA display. It has Seagate’s 100 GB SATA hard drive, a built-in 1.3 mega pixel camera with 225-degree swivel ability, Intel Pro wireless 3945 a/b/g, and built-in Bluetooth VoIP capability. It weighs three kilos and its battery lasts six hours. Among the list of utility tools is the eDataSecurity Management for encryption to prevent unauthorised access. It also has tools for data recovery, settings, Internet, power and presentation management.

ASUS’ PVL-D serverboard series

Features: The PVL-D Series serverboards support a two-processor platform for Intel’s dual-core, hyper-threaded Xeon MP (Paxville) processor. It has an independent 2M L2 cache for each CPU core, and a 800 MHz system bus. The serverboards support up to 16 GB of memory. With streamlined designs for memory slots, Northbridge and power supply unit connectors (located on the side), the serverboards maximise airflow and ventilation within the system for heat dissipation. The CPU and VRD are located at the centre of the boards, allowing the fans to aim directly at the critical components for efficient cooling.

With one PCI Express x8 slot, two PCI-X 133/100 slots, two PCI 32/33 slots and one SODIMM ZCR RAID 5 socket, the serverboards offer expandability options.

With dual-PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet, the PVL-D Series is capable of higher bandwidth aggregation and networking based on failover and load balance functions.

Sahara’s NB5240-N9 notebook

Features: Sahara Computers and Electronics’ NB5240-N9 is powered by the Mobile AMD Turion 64 processor. The N9 comes with 256 MB DDR RAM upgradeable to 2 GB, 40 GB HDD and 14-inch TFT-LCD display. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and has embedded Bluetooth technology. The notebook also provides for a 3-in-1 micro card reader that supports SD/MS/MMC cards besides having a DVD R/RW drive.

NVIDIA’s GeForce 7300 GS graphics card

Features: The GeForce 7300 GS graphics processing unit has video and gaming features for high-definition video with 1080i resolution and realistic gaming effects. Its PureVideo technology is a combination of high-definition video processors, while the software is responsible for picture clarity, video, colour, and image scaling for the playback of video content. It has dual integrated 400 MHz RAMDACs for display resolutions up to and including 2048 x 1536 at 85 Hz and is designed for PCI Express x16. Logitech’s X-530 and X-230 speakers

Features: The X-530 and X-230 speakers come with Frequency Directed Dual Drivers technology that has dual drivers in each satellite speaker. It overcomes the high-frequency overlap which leads to uneven sound.

The X-530 has a 5.1 surround-sound system and includes a sub-woofer with a dynamic, real-time equaliser that minimises distortion. It has a dedicated centre channel and acoustically-matched front and rear satellites. The combination of five satellites plus subwoofer delivers 70 watts of power using the RMS (Root Mean Square) measuring system. The X-230 features two dual-driver satellites and a sub-woofer with a dynamic bass equaliser. With a 2.1 system sound, the X-230 system is targeted at digital music enthusiasts and general PC users. The Logitech X-230 system also works with stereo TVs or traditional stereo components. Both speakers come with a one-year warranty.

Motorola’s Pink RAZR V3 mobile phone

Features: This limited edition phone has a metallic finish with size specs of 13.9 mm, 53 mm and 98 mm. Bluetooth enables the Pink RAZR V3 to interact with other devices. It has an integrated VGA camera with 4x zoom and MPEG4 video playback, built-in speaker-phone and picture caller ID. Its internal display size is 2.2 inches with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and 64K TFT colour display.
