Coruscant Tec, a leading mobile content and commerce provider announced that it has nominated Alex Kuruvilla, former Managing Director, MTV Networks India & Executive Vice-president MTV Networks Asia, as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the company with effect from October 2005.

Welcoming Kuruvilla to the board, Ajay Adiseshann, Managing Director, Coruscant Tec, said, “Alex brings with him the rich experience of creating one of the most successful youth channels in Asia. We welcome his experience and wisdom to the Coruscant board and feel that his presence will add to the quality of debate and decision making at the board.” “The incredible pace at which innovation and growth is happening in the mobile and wireless space makes it an exciting place for me to be involved with. I was very impressed by the Coruscant team’s passion and I am very excited about the breakthrough ideas that they are launching,” said Alex Kuruvilla.

Kuruvilla’s last assignment involved spearheading the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of MTV, Nickelodeon (Nick) and VH1 in India and South East Asia.


EMR Technology Ventures, a leading company in the knowledge-based outsourcing domain, has announced the appointment of Dr Nikhil Sinha as President and Co-CEO. Dr Sinha has been associated with EMR since its inception as an investor and a board member. He has over 15 years of senior management experience in international information technology, transaction processing and telecommunications.

He most recently served as Associate Dean of the College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to that, Dr Sinha was the Executive Vice-president of eFunds, where he oversaw corporate P&L and global product management sales and marketing for the publicly traded provider of electronic payment solutions, decision support, risk management and IT and BPO services.

Before joining eFunds, Dr Sinha was the President and CEO of iDLX Technology Partners, a provider of IT consulting and Business Process Outsourcing services to financial institutions, which he helped merge with eFunds in March 2000. He has also served as an advisor to the World Bank and governments of India, Mexico, Chile and South Africa.

He also advised the Indian Telecom Commission and the Indian Planning Commission. In addition, Dr Sinha was a Professor of International Business and International Communication at The University of Texas in Austin, a position he held from 1991 through 1999. He holds a PhD and MA from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.


Ensim appoints Anand Kekre as Director of Technology for its Indian Operations. Kekre will be responsible for leveraging technology to influence the product roadmap of the company and fostering a culture of technical leadership.

Kekre brings over 12 years of experience in software R&D to his new position at Ensim India. He comes to Ensim from Veritas where his most recent position was Director of Technology of Storage and Server Management Business Division.

He had joined Veritas India ten years back as one of the founding engineers and has played a key role in building a strong technology company. During this period he was instrumental in driving many key technology initiatives in the company. He himself has contributed more than 50 patent applications to company’s Intellectual Property portfolio.

Prior to Veritas, Kekre worked at Tata-IBM Bangalore and IBM Toronto Labs. “We are excited that a person like Anand Kekre with his technical expertise has joined our organisation as he will be playing a significant role in shaping our technical roadmap and strategy,” said Sandeep Phadke, GM, Ensim India. “He joins our executive team as another industry veteran with significant experience in enterprise-level product development, which will be critical to our success in delivering leading-edge solutions to our customers world-wide.”
