Sony’s VRD-VC20

Features: The VRD-VC20 creates DVDs directly from camcorders and VCRs. It does not require a PC to burn a DVD. DVDirect connects to a computer via USB and serves as an external DVD burner with which one can make copies of home movie DVDs. The recorders automatically create a DVD menu and automatically or manually generate titles and chapters on a disk, making videos easier to watch. DVDirect ensures that the taped memories are preserved for the future. The hybrid DVD recorder comes with the Nero software suite. It comes with a stand-alone recording support for DVD-R and DVD-RW disks, in addition to DVD+R, DVD+R double layer and DVD+RW disks, providing an array of media options. The DVDs made can be played on most of the DVD players and DVD-ROM drives of PCs.

The package features software for DVD video authoring and DVD/CD burning, as well as for packet writing, so that files and folders can be burnt by dragging them to the icon of a DVD+RW/CD-RW disk.

McAfee’s Internet Security Suite 2006

Features: McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006 protects against viruses, hackers and phishing scams that may result in lost files, identity theft and poor PC performance. It prevents access and damage to documents such as digital photos, family movies and personal financial data. Further, it identifies blocks and removes identified unwanted programs such as spyware or programs that threaten privacy, identity or reduce PC performance. The product auto-detects whenever the user is in ‘Full Screen’ mode, suppressing firewall pop-up messages and thus enhancing online experience. Asus’ Digital Home W1V

Features: W1V is a Digital Home concept laptop with functions like TV tuner, remote and FM. It comes with Asus mobile theatre software, sub-woofer and surround-sound effect. It has a built-in 1.3 mega pixel Web camera, 5-in-1 card reader, and BT. Its Audio DJ console lets you to play CDs without loading Windows. Palm’s TX Handheld

Features: The Palm TX handheld’s features include integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology with a high-resolution 320x480 colour screen. The Palm TX allows one to check e-mail, browse the Web and download media and documents wherever there is Wi-Fi access. It has 128 MB of memory and comes with functions like the ability to scan for available networks, and connection logic that automatically connects to available compatible networks.

With mobile applications like Avvenu for use over Wi-Fi, TX users can view, download and share the media and documents they left on their desktop at home or at work. With DataViz documents to go, Palm TX handheld users can view, edit and create Word- and Excel-compatible files, and view and edit PowerPoint files.

Additionally, users can send photo wirelessly; synchronise e-mail on the device with desktop e-mail; synchronise Outlook contacts, calendar, tasks and memos; and work with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync using VersaMail software to synchronise e-mail and calendar.

Samsung’s E-530

Features: Samsung’s E-530 mobile phone comes with an integrated megapixel camera. Some of its features include an in-built flash, 4X Digital Zoom function and an hour of video recording capability. It is equipped with 90 MB memory, an MP3 Player, Bluetooth and SyncML DS Connectivity. This GPRS phone has a 262K colour internal TFT screen and a 65,000 colour external OLED screen. It has a seven regional language menu and 64 polyphonic ring tones.

E-530 comes with a video wallpaper function which allows the user to record his own personal video and set it as a wallpaper.

Dell’s Inspiron notebook

Features: Dell’s Inspiron 630m is a 14.1-inch widescreen notebook and features Dell MediaDirect technology for quick access to digital photos, music and videos without having to start the operating system.

Inspiron 630m is targeted at the customers who want mobile entertainment technology. It weighs about 2.48 kg and fits a full-sized keyboard in a 1.5-inch thin design. The 14.1-inch high-definition widescreen WXGA or WXGA display comes with TrueLife technology. By pressing the Dell MediaDirect button, users can access stored music, photos and movies.
