Acer’s TravelMate 2312 NLCi

Features: Acer’s TravelMate 2312 NLCi notebook comes with an integrated wireless LAN connectivity and Intel Celeron M360 processor. It has a Linux OS, a 15-inch display and a CD RW/DVD drive.

Under the Windows mode, the notebook provides a feature called Acer eManager, which includes the Acer ePresentation, eRecovery, (which lets you restore your operating system or back up laptop data) and also has Acer eSettings feature option.

TravelMate incorporates the Acer SignalUp technology for wireless connectivity. The technology provides two panel-top PIFA antennae, which generate an omni-directional signal sphere that enables wireless signal reception. In addition, the TM2312 has Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) compatibility signifying essential security for 802.11-based network client products.

WatchGuard’s Firebox SSL Core VPN Gateway

Features: WatchGuard Technologies has announced the launch of the WatchGuard Firebox SSL Core VPN Gateway with Citrix Secure Access. The product allows authorised users to connect through an auto-updated, Web-deployed client and provides universal access to any application (Web or non-Web) or internal resource from anywhere across the network for any authorised user.

It gives users connectivity by providing two access modes—Secure Access client and kiosk—to extend the network’s reach. In the Secure Access client mode, users can access any application or network resource. The kiosk mode enables users to securely access Citrix ICA, remote desktop, SSH, Telnet 3270 emulator, VNC servers and any other Web-based network resource using Web-enabled handhelds, laptops, desktops or Internet kiosks, whose browsers support SSL in Java or Windows environments.

It comes with security capabilities such as blocking worms, session time-out, support for two-factor authentication and digital certificates, alleviating security concerns when extending network access to wireless devices. The product comes with WatchGuard’s LiveSecurity Service.

SonicWall’s PRO4100

Features: SonicWall PRO4100 is a 10-port, all-gigabit UTM firewall that delivers internal and external network protection enabling reduced deployment time, automated ongoing operations and network reliability.

The product integrates high-speed gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, anti-spam, anti-phishing, clean VPN and content filtering on a single platform. Aten’s Master View switches

Features: Aten has released its new two and four port Ethernet and USB hubs embedded Master View CS-1772 and CS-1774 KVME switches. The switches allow control of different computer systems such as PC, Mac, Sun or Linux platforms from one single console. The integrated Ethernet and USB hubs allow users to access the network and share peripherals among the system.

The audio-enabled switches incorporate a 2-port USB 2.0 hub and an Ethernet hub. CS-1774 and CS-1772 utilise front panel push buttons and support the hotkey function for switching between computers.

Matrix3D’s Extreme Z PC

Features: Extreme Z is designed for OpenGL accelerated applications used in 3D designing modelling, simulation and games. All of them come with 64-bit processor compatibility and has both 32-bit and 64-bit applications available on the desktop and implements the Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 specification, increasing the connection speed to 480 Mbps on USB 2.0. USB 2.0 is backward compatible with USB 1.1.

The CPU temperature is monitored by the ASIC (integrated in the Winbond Super I/O) to prevent overheating and damage.

vFortress’ xVES

Features: vFortress has recently launched xves, a new product for remote access. The product comes bundled with a 10-concurrent user license with the appliance. xVES allows remote access using server-based computing (thin client access), VPN like access for client-server applications (fat client Access), mobile device access and network and application security.

Remote users are authenticated using digital certificates and biometrics to ensure electronic trust mechanisms by providing authentication access and authorisation for applications that are secured using SSL and managed through a single appliance.

Genius’ GHT-S200 home theater speaker system

Features: The Genius GHT-S200 series is a 5.1 speaker system, and comes with a total of six speakers: two stereo speakers in front, one speaker in the centre for voice, two rear speakers for surround, and one subwoofer for bass.

The speakers are powered with amplifiers that supply 200 watts of total output power with an 8-inch woofer.
