Acer’s Ferrari 4000

Features: The Ferrari 4000 notebook PC is based on the AMD Turion 64-processor technology. It is backed by the ATI Mobility Radeon X700 graphics card, which utilises the PCI Express architecture for better graphics.

The Windows XP-based Ferrari 4000 notebook comes with an ML-37 (2.0 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache) or ML-30 (1.6 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache) processor, and simultaneous 32- and 64-bit Windows compatible support. It has 512 MB or 1 GB of DDR333 memory upgradeable to 2 GB using dual SODI MM modules, CD/DVD optical drive and a 15.4” Acer CrystalBrite colour TFT LCD screen. The notebook also provides integrated wireless LAN, integrated Bluetooth support, gigabit Ethernet and 56 Kbps ITU V.92 modem. Additional features include a multi-format five-in-one memory card reader, 124 pin Acer ezDock connector, 4 USB 2.0 ports, Kensington lock slot and BIOS user and supervisor passwords.

Genius’ EasyTouch Optical II

Features: It is a combination of the multimedia keyboard and optical mouse. The keyboard is provided with the Euro sign for European countries. Keyboard-KB-12e Multimedia centre provides one access to music or videos along with Internet hot keys.

The Xscroll Mouse allows enhanced precision with an optical engine. The system requirements are IBM PC Pentium-compatible or higher, Microsoft Windows 2003/XP/Me/2000/98, and CD/DVD-ROM drive for software installation.

Netgear’s Digital Hot spotter

Features: It searches for transmission of IEEE 802.11b/g networks and provides information to the user about most wireless networks. Digital Wi-Fi is a handheld device with an LCD display. It has a frequency range of 2.4 GHz to 2.462 GHz and comes with 13 operating channels.

Its Digital Hot Spotter gives an indication if encryption (WEP/WPA) is enabled. Other features include Modulation Technologies Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum. Power consumption is 160 mW in a standard operating mode.

SMC’s EliteConnect

Features: EliteConnect 2.4 GHz 802.11g Wireless Hotspot Gateway SMCWHSG44-G is an all-in-one solution for the Internet environment. SMCWHSG44-G offers a combination of a maximum of 4 LAN ports or 4 WAN ports to which multiple ISP links can be connected. Those using wireless devices such as laptops and PDAs can roam over a large area while remaining connected within a wireless network.

The gateway supports a host of security features such as NAT, SPI firewall and MAC. H&M’s StudioLine Photo 2.10

Features: H&M’s Studio Line Photo 2.10 is the latest version of the software for digital imaging archiving, management, editing and presentation of digital photos. The technology protects original images against accidental changes and generational loss in quality. Users can choose the folder to which images are to be loaded. Alternately, StudioLine can mimic the folder tree that exists on the source media. Features like a drop-down menu on the toolbar allow images to be ranked or marked for subsequent actions directly from within the album view. Images can now also be sorted by ranking. The integrated web gallery preview allows users to get a glimpse of the outcome—if necessary, they are only a single mouse-click away from the settings to make their changes.
