eInfochips to double headcount
eInfochips, plans to double the headcount at its research and development centres
this year from the current strength of 270 engineers to over 550 engineers to
tap markets in Europe and Asia.
eInfochips has a state-of-the-art 40,000 sqft design centre
employing over 250 design engineers in Ahmedabad. Last year, it set up a new
development and design facility in Pune. The Pune centre is executing offshore
projects for global blue chip technology companies such as QLogic and Tensilica.
The demand for technology services is large and we
see ourselves growing rapidly. The market potential for outsourced engineering
services is estimated between $7 to $12 billion and around 20 percent of the
value is being outsourced to third party vendors in countries such as India,
Taiwan and China which highlights significant untapped potential. We will recruit
a large number of engineers this year and offer them an opportunity to work
on cutting edge technology such as GPS navigation, digital MP3 players, video-on-demand,
UWB (wireless) and SAN (storage area networking), says Pratul Shroff,
President & CEO, eInfochips.
eInfochips specialises in design and verification of Application
Specific Integrated Chips (ASIC) and provides embedded systems solutions, application
software and IP cores to companies such as Samsung, Texas Instruments, Cadence,
Rambus, Qlogic, Tensilica, Cypress Semiconductor, Agere, Navionics, Sun Microsystems
and NetEffect.
eInfochips has also recently introduced ChipMaestro,
the industrys first suite of solutions and services, as a single source
of offshore expertise in the design, development and verification of SoCs, ASICs
or FPGAs for the communications and computer peripheral markets.
