Quantum has announced the appointment of a new distributor, Redington India, which operates a network of local sales offices. Redington will distribute Quantum’s complete line of storage products for backup, recovery and archival.

This agreement with Redington reinforces Quantum’s focus on driving growth and promoting its new products throughout Asia.

Quantum recently announced the completion of its acquisition of Certance, a privately-held global supplier of tape drives and data protection solutions. “We’re confident the newly-combined company will offer customers in India a range of backup, recovery and archive solutions from leading tape drive and media technologies, autoloaders and libraries to disk-based backup systems,” says Emil Kobylarz, Managing Director, Quantum, Asia Pacific. “The appointment of Redington strengthens Quantum’s channel strategy in India as we continue to expand our sales presence in the growing market here. Redington comes with a proven record of success, and we are confident that together we will expand Quantum’s product reach and increase our local marketshare.”

Adds Jitendra Kulkarni, CEO of Redington India, “We are delighted to sign up with Quantum in India as it provides us a further opportunity to broaden our existing customer base and product offerings while growing our business portfolio. Quantum’s leadership in bringing innovation to backup, recovery and archive solutions is in line with what our customers demand. We certainly look forward to working closely with Quantum and helping it to achieve further success in India.”
