Microsoft’s solution for VAT

Microsoft India has announced the launch of its end-to-end VAT-compliant solution ‘AdVATage’ aimed at the SMB segment. The offer consists of a VAT-ready accounting solution from Microsoft’s ISV partners—Wings, Trio and Matrix—coupled with a high-end hardware server (from Microsoft System Builder Partners) and the Microsoft Small Business Server 2003.

Says Rajeev Mittal, Director, Small and Medium Solutions and Partners (SMS&P), Microsoft India, “With the nearing VAT regime, it is imperative that SMBs build efficiencies by adoption of VAT-compliant IT solutions. There is a pressing need to educate businesses in this segment on the fundamentals of VAT and how they can leverage IT to integrate VAT-enabled accounting solutions with their existing IT infrastructure.”

Microsoft organised a series of seminars and interactive discussions at metros to explain the fundamentals of VAT and its implications for the SMB segment. It also showcased a VAT-compliant accounting solution built around the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server.

“Realising the latent need, we conceptualised the AdVATage eight-city road shows to reach out to SMBs, generate awareness of VAT solutions, and how these solutions can enable them to leap into a high-growth phase,” adds Rajeev.
