Holistic development of employees
If you mull over what it takes to survive and profit in competitive and volatile market conditions, the common solution would be to offer improved products and services.

Subex: enlightened employer
A recent online employee satisfaction survey conducted by Subex Systems showed that 92 percent of respondents rated the company satisfactory. The success can be attributed to an evolved HR system. Ajmal Yusuf, a project leader at Subex, recalls, “Recently, when the company was shifting to a new location, I had a problem changing my kid’s school. I had an informal chat with our CEO about the problem. Within a couple of days the issue was sorted out, and the company tied up with a school where Subexians now have reservations for admission. Clearly, Subex is committed to its employees, and safeguards their best interests.”

Photography: Agendra Kumar’s passion
He does not fit into the typical mould of a high-flying corporate executive leading an IT MNC in India. This is because Agendra Kumar is a man possessed by two passions which are equally close to his heart but are very different from each other—driving an IT sales force to exceed its targets, and capturing the beauty of nature and history within the frame of his camera.

IT’s impact on education
A few days ago, a headline glared at me. 70 percent of IIT graduates choose IT jobs. My first reaction was, “an example of market forces at work.” But I could not get that headline out of my head. We expect a song to keep repeating in the head and not a headline.

Build strong alliances
According to one popular saying, there is no ‘I’ in ‘TEAM.’ Who are we kidding?

The CEO as a process leader
“Follow me!” T E Lawrence shouted to his Arab troops as he led his army’s charge into battle.
