The RFID Association of India is an excellent way to educate the industry and promote the adoption of RFID

The RFID Association of India (RFIDAI) has been formed as a not-for-profit society under the Companies Act to promote the adoption of RFID technology, standards and applications across industry, government and academia. The association’s goals include positioning India as a country of pre-eminence in RFID technology applications and use across industry, government and society. It will encourage Indian industry to establish a leadership position in the emerging global RFID market, and will collaborate with like-minded international associations.

Bimal Sareen, founding president of RFIDAI, and founder and CEO of Avaana said, “We are pleased to take the initiative to form a not-for-profit industry association to promote the responsible adoption of RFID technology in India.” Kiran Karnik, president, Nasscom, stated, “The RFID Association of India is an excellent way to educate the industry and promote the adoption of RFID.”

Said V K Magapu, CEO of L&T InfoTech, “We are excited about the potential that RFID has to offer our company, and the industry at large. Taking RFID beyond warehousing and retail, and deploying it for manufacturing apparently has many challenges, but if these challenges are overcome it could increase competitive advantage.”

The RFIDAI supports the evolving EPC standard and other RFID-related ISO standards. Membership is open to industry, government and academia.
