Integrate and protect

Sushma Naik / Mumbai

Integrating security tools is the best way to keep threats to an organisation’s data at bay, averred security specialists at the Frost and Sullivan seminar on Emerging paradigms in Information security. Unmesh Deshmukh, head of sales- India, Symantec said that the sophistication of attacks has increased and there was a need for effective threat protection for today’s businesses. Another interesting topic, self defending networks, a proactive network security system, was elaborated upon by Cisco.

One of the less spoken topics in the security space is Identity Management. T M Mani, lead security consultant, IBM explained in depth the need for identity management tools. Venkatesh S, country manager, India & Sri Lanka, ISS spoke about the need for updating patches regularly.
