Informatica Corporation and Sonata enter reseller tie-up

Circuit EC / Bangalore

US-based Informatica Corporation has entered into a reseller tie-up with Bangalore-based Sonata Technologies to market its business analytic solutions in India. To begin with, Informatica would be marketing its range of data integration solutions and is already in talks with 4-5 customers for deploying them. Depending on the success of its data integration solutions, the company will then bring its complete range of business intelligence tools into the country.

Informatica, which already has a presence in the country through its global partners and its two major customers in the financial sector, now plans to leverage Sonata’s vast network to market its solutions in India.

Brian Brett, regional manager, Asia South at Informatica said, “We plan to target our solutions across verticals as the need for business analytical solutions has grown. The Indian market is showing signs of maturity in the business analytic space and we have identified around 200 corporate houses in India who can possibly use these solutions.”

However, Informatica is not anticipating overnight success. It is targeting only 4-5 major deals during the current financial year. “The Indian market is at a developing stage, hence we expect less than 1 percent contribution to our total revenue share from India during the current year,” added Brett.

The $200 million company has roughly 18 percent of the global business analytic market and 1,711 customers worldwide. It specialises in data integration, data warehousing, datamarts, business intelligence and analytic application solutions.
