Airplus Wireless Router
D-Link India has recently unveiled another wireless connectivity product with the introduction of Airplus Dl-714 wireless router. This router is capable of data transfer of up to 22 Mbps and with twice the data rate and capacity, it delivers media rich content such as digital images, videos and MP3 files much faster than standard 802.11b networks. The DI-714P+ combines the latest advancements in 802.11b silicon chip design from Texas Instruments, utilising its patented Digital Signal Processing technology and its own firewall security features. To prevent unwanted Internet intruders from accessing the private network, the DI-714P+ also serves as a feature-rich firewall through the use of filters. Filters can be set based on MAC address, IP address and domain names. It also provides NAT protection from Internet intruders and hacker attacks, plus VPN pass-through for extra security. The router can be set to allow separate FTP, Web and multiplayer game servers to share the same Internet visible IP address while still protecting the servers and workstations from hackers. An integrated 4-port switch allows direct connection of up to four wired computers while several wireless clients can also securely connect to the network using 64, 128 or 256-bit WEP encryption. In addition, it also features a bi-directional parallel printer port to share a printer and includes a print server application for Windows, Linux and Mac OS. Any of the built-in LAN ports of the EI714P+ can be configured to function as a DMZ port.
