Network Associates has recently launched the McAfee VirusScan home version 7.0 that is primarily targeted at home and small-office users. This software essentially destroys threats at all entry points to the PC, including e-mail, Internet and even synchronisation with the PDA. The VirusScan includes extra firewall protection to keep one’s computer safe from Internet-based threats. The McAfee VirusScan Home Edition 7.0 contains improved detection and cleaning methods for viruses and other malicious threats, as well as the inclusion of McAfee Firewall.
Other unique features include McAfee’s new Script Stopper, that prevents infection from rapidly spreading viruses, improvements to McAfee’s Hostile Activity Watch Kernel (HAWK) that monitors and protects users from e-mail-based threats.
