Akhtar Pasha / Bangalore

After capturing the Middle East and South African healthcare market, Medicom Solutions, with more than 105 seats installed, now plans to expand its market in India, ASEAN, US and European markets. The company offers Medicom—a Healthcare Information System (HIS) product for hospitals.

Medicom is a Web-enabled real-time integrated information management system for healthcare establishments, addressing all critical areas of healthcare activity. The product has 68 modules that can be integrated to automate functions ranging from patient administration to clinical services. Medicom provides immediate access to clinical and administrative data, streamlines the scheduling and management of clinics visits and admissions. It aids the dispensing of medications, facilitates management of laboratory functions with interfaces to laboratory equipment.

S Govind, executive director and COO, Medicom said, “India, ASEAN, Europe and the US represent growth market for us. Our strategy will be to appoint four partners in the ASEAN region and one each for the Europe and the US markets that will be marketing our product. In India we will be directly marketing our products.” The company has recently signed up Sri Satya Sai Baba Institute of Medical Sciences as its first Indian customers. Govind added that Mediccom has obtained another project in Hong Kong. “During 2002, we are expecting $ 6 million revenues to come from ASEAN and another $ 2 million from India,” said Govind.
