| According
to Chalisgaonkar, the company is expecting revenues
in the range of $5 million this year |
In
2000, Mphasis-BFL established its call centre subsidiary called-MsourcE
headquartered in California. An initial investment of $3 million
was made by Mphasis and ING who hold a 75 and 20 percent stake
in MsourcE respectively. MsourcE has 500 seats in Pune and
Bangalore employing over 750 professionals. We have
the first mover advantage in the call centre space and expect
it to become the Infosys of the call centre business,
Rao says. As the downturn continues, Jerry expects MsourcE,
Mphasiss call centre subsidiary to grow at 200 percent.
This year we are expecting revenues close to $5 million
and in 2003, we aim to have exponential growth, says
Milind Chalisgaonkar, CEO MsourcE. The subsidiary has already
achieved cash break-even. At present, MsourcEs clientele
includes a US-based large financial house and a credit card
company. Chalisgaonkar declines to comment on the clients.
Most of the US-based clients are not interested in disclosing
the fact that they are outsourcing services to India. So we
are not in a position to name the clients, he explains.
The expansion plans are underway and MsourcE is in the process
of scaling up the present number of seats. The company is
also exploring opportunities in other linguistic markets like
Spain.
