Andhra
Pradesh Technolo-gical Services (APTS) recently signed a memorandum
of understanding (MoU) with IBM India to deploy IBM software
technologies across the state. The MoU was signed by Suresh
Chandra, managing director, APTS, and Pawan Sharma, country
manager-software, IBM. Under the agreement, IBM will work
with APTS to offer products and services to Andhra Pradesh
government organisations as well as other customers of APTS.
IBM would offer the entire range of its software products,
office automation, collaboration and workflow software such
as Lotus, Web integration middleware like WebSphere and WebSphere
MQ and enterprise systems management with Tivoli and DB2 to
APTS.
Further, IBM will enable APTS to offer solutions based on
IBM technologies by implementing workshops to transfer skills
and provide regular technology updates. Both the companies
will sign the PartnerWorld for software agreement, which is
a single point-of-entry into IBMs global resources for
developers who invest in IBM solutions, products, services
and technologies with a focus on delivering e-business solutions.
IBM India will also offer technical education through seminars,
workshops and professional certifications.
Presently, APTS uses IBM Lotus Notes for the under-progress
Secretariat Knowledge Information Management System (SKIMS)
and IBM DB2 for a file monitoring system called K Atom.
Under the MoU, APTS gains access to the facilities at Solution
Partnership Centre in Bangalore to design solution architecture
or port applications from one platform to another.
